HEY, HOW'D YOU TIE THAT?!?

HOW TO TIE DAVE’S PANIC BUTTON

It's a lot like giving away your girlfriend's phone number.  Your "secret" fly recipes are your little "perceived" edge over the other guides on the river. So here's my girlfriend's phone number... Well, here's how to tie Dave’s Panic Button trout spey swinging fly :). Check out our Alaska Fly page for more great flies!

A FRESHLY TIED DAVE’S PANIC BUTTON READY TO SWING!

TYING IN SENYO INTRUDER WIRE AND STINGER HOOK. HOOK POINT DOWN.

A BASE OF BLENDED ICE DUB WITH AN OVERLAY OF MALLARD FLANK AND BROWN MARABOU. RUBBER LEGS TRAILING BEHIND.

A RABBIT FUR COLLAR AND WOVEN THROUGH THE BEAD CHAIN EYES. USING 4 BEAD CHAIN EYES HELPS SINK THE FLY A BIT AND KEEP IT ORIENTED CORRECTLY (THANK YOU GREG SENYO FOR THE TIP!)

SPUN RABBIT FUR READY TO BE WOVEN THROUGH THE EYES. BE SURE TO BRUSH OUT THE FUR TO FREE ALL THE TRAPPED FIBERS.

USING WATER TO ORIENT THE MATERIALS TO KEEP THEM FROM GETTING TRAPPED. THE FUR IS WRAPPED DIRECTLY BEHIND THE EYES TO MAKE A COLLAR, THEN WOVEN THROUGH THE EYES.

PINCHING THE BARB TO FINISH OFF THE FLY!

ANOTHER UNSUSPECTING FISH LURED IN BY DAVE’S PANIC BUTTON!
