SPECIES AND SPECIAL REGULATIONS

Cooper Landing Fishing Guide, LLC offers salmon and trout trips nearly year-round south of the Anchorage area. Keep in mind that all of our trout fishing trips and Kenai River king salmon trips are strictly catch and release.

We offer trout fishing trips for guests coming from Anchorage. These Anchorage Charters are in the spring, summer and fall. In June we target Kings on the Kasilof River as well as Sockeye Salmon.

In July, our salmon trips include Kings and also Sockeye Salmon on the Kenai River.

Later in the fall months, we switch gears to Trophy Trout trips as well as Silver Salmon trips.


KENAI AND KASILOF KING SALMON

Wild king salmon of the Kenai and Kasilof River will always be catch and release. This is per our company policy. However, there are opportunities to harvest hatchery kings on the Kasilof. We also have Sockeye Salmon and Silver Salmon on both the Kenai and Kasilof. This depends on the time of year.

Availability of salmon trips depends on the season. We will be sure to let you know what trips are available when you’ll be fishing from Anchorage.

Kenai River does experience occasional closures or restrictions. This is to protect the largest Kings in the world and other delicate salmon populations. Cooper Landing Fishing Guide, LLC supports catch and release for wild King Salmon. We may focus on Sockeye salmon or Rainbow Trout when emergency orders restrict salmon fishing.

SEASONAL FISHING RESTRICTIONS:

Some Anchorage, Alaska Salmon Fishing Charters are not available on Sundays or Mondays in June & July (mainly King Salmon fishing). Mondays in August and September, fishing from the boat is restricted as well. TROUT FISHING AND FISHING FOR SALMON FROM THE SHORE ARE AVAILABLE DURING THIS TIME.
