COMBO SALMON & TROUT FISHING TRIPS

COMBO FISHING ON THE KENAI RIVER in alaska

Our guide staff spends countless hours fishing the Kenai River and Kasilof River on Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula in search of trophy trout & salmon.

Not only are we on the water every day fishing for Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden and Salmon with our guests, often times we fish in the evenings and on our days off for fun. Fishing around here is just that awesome!

Our home waters produce trout that average 10-15” and we catch lots of fish over 20 inches that would be considered trophies on any other river in the lower 48 or even around the globe. Our rivers are also home to trophy populations of pacific salmon.

The Trout and Salmon Guides at Cooper Landing Fishing Guide, LLC are always on top of our game knowing what to use and what the latest conditions are. We fish obsessively and it shows with the quality of our Alaska Fishing Trips.

*We practice catch and release for all trout, no exceptions.

TROUT FISHING IN ALASKA

Combo Fishing Trips in Alaska

Our general policy is to fish wherever the best trout fishing is happening. If we had the day off, where would we fish?

Starting in mid-June, the Upper and Middle Kenai River opens up for trout fishing. Rainbow Trout are just coming off of their spawn and are aggressively feeding. This is a great time to fish as many trophy fish haven’t seen a fly or lure in over a month.

Throughout the summer months of June, July and early-August, Trout can be caught on dry flies, nymphs, streamers, egg patterns, lures, etc… We fly fish for trout as well as use conventional spinning gear on some trips.

During late August, September and through October, the fall fishing for trout on the Kenai is nothing short of world-class. Anglers can expect to catch double digits numbers of trout and have a realistic shot at several trophy trout of a lifetime. Our fish can reach 30 inches or more and this time of the year, more of them are caught than any other time of year!

SALMON FISHING IN ALASKA

Alaska Combo Fishing Trip

If there is one species of fish Alaska is known for, it’s our world-class, healthy populations of pacific salmon. The Kenai River and Kasilof River are host to great Sockeye, King, Silver and Pink Salmon runs throughout the spring, summer and fall months.

Understanding up-to-the-minute run timing and fishing reports gives our guides an edge when pursuing migratory salmon on Alaska fishing trips. We fish from mid-May all the way through the end of October for salmon using a variety of techniques such as fly fishing, spin fishing, back trolling, bobber fishing and more!

FUN FOR FLY AND SPIN ANGLERS

The Kenai River is an excellent place to learn how to fly fish, especially for trout and salmon. We encourage our guests to at least try fly fishing if they are comfortable. Our fly techniques are very easy to learn as we can usually get anglers up to speed in a few minutes.

Many folks that fish with us are new to the fly fishing, but find a new lifelong passion through their experiences with our guide business.

There are lots of days where we fish for trout and salmon with spinning gear. We use many techniques that require spinning rods like back trolling, throwing spinners, bottom bouncing, etc…

Spin anglers will find lots and lots of opportunities to test their skills against our trophy fish!
