Fishing in Alaska During Global Pandemic Covid-19 in 2020

Considering Fishing in Alaska during the Covid - 19 Pandemic of 2020?

If you are considering a trip to Alaska in 2020 or already have a trip booked but are not sure if you should still come up, we’ll try to help answer some of your most frequently asked questions so you can make an informed decision.

May and June Fishing in Alaska

First and foremost, please do not feel any pressure to keep your obligations with guides, lodges, hotels, car rentals, airlines and other excursions. We are happy to fully refund the price of your trip so long as we have enough notice. The one caveat we ask is that if you can afford it: hold off on a refund and consider re-booking for the following year or for a future date with your current deposit.

Choosing a later date will help businesses like ours maintain enough working capital to keep afloat during these tough times.

Alaska is currently in Phase-2 of re-opening as of 5/11/2020.

Alaska is currently in Phase-2 of re-opening as of 5/11/2020.

Currently (as of 5/11/2020) the state of Alaska has begun loosening restrictions and began the initial stages of re-opening the state. We are currently in Phase-2 of that process. A 14-day quarantine is still in place for visitors from outside the state.

There is talk that on 5/19/2020 Governor Dunleavy will announce the lifting of the 14-day quarantine, thus allowing for quarantine-free travel to locations within the state of Alaska on the road system.

It is imperative that if you plan on coming to Alaska, that you screen yourself, your family and/or members of your traveling party for any symptoms or potential exposure to the Coronavirus. Failure to do so could result in devastating effects on the rural communities of Alaska.

All in all, we are thankful that you are considering visiting our great state and supporting our travel industry which has been devastated by the Coronavirus.

We want you to know that we are in a position where we can wait until next year or the following year if you do not feel like it is safe to travel to us.

If you do decide to come fishing in Alaska with us in 2020, we will do everything in our power to ensure that you have the piece-of-mind of safety and a healthy experience in Alaska.

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to email me or call me any time!
