Fishing in Alaska during Covid-19 Pandemic Update: For Out-of-State Visitors
Fishing in Alaska Covid-19 Update for Out-of-State Travelers (6/1/2020)
On Friday May 29th, Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy announced that the 14-day quarantine for travelers from out of state will be lifted.
The decision comes with the intent of encouraging visitors to the state of Alaska to boost the travel industry (like those of us in the fishing industry - Cooper Landing Fishing Guide, LLC).
Though the 14-day quarantine will be lifted on June 5th, travelers will now have to show results of a negative coronavirus (covid-19) test within 72 hours of travel, or they can take a test at Ted Stevens Airport in Anchorage upon arrival.
The intent is to slow the incoming threat of Covid-19 to Alaskan residents, especially those in rural communities with limited access to medical facilities.
